With childhood obesity an epidemic in the United States, the need to promote healthy eating habits in young children cannot be understated. For this reason, the Coalition has organized a 3-part training series for early care and education professionals entitled Promoting Healthy Nutrition in Early Childhood beginning Sept. 28th. Sessions will be held at Independence Square in Kingston and run from 6:00 to 7:30 pm. The series, taught by Laura Elson, BS, and Donna Sassi, RN, BSN, includes these 3 sessions:
Sept. 28th – ABC’s of Nutrition
Oct. 12th – Parent Involvement – Engaging Families in Good Nutrition Practices
Oct. 26th – Incorporating Healthy Nutrition Into Early Childhood Curriculum
