Andréa Martin, Board Secretary

Andréa Martin, Board Secretary, is an elementary school educator working in Special Education and Early Care and Education Consulting with expertise in developing plans to including children with special needs in typical settings.

Among her accomplishments:

  • Establishing an integrated summer program for special needs children
  • Watch Me Grow RI, a developmental screening program in child care and pediatric offices
  • Named a WCCC Champion for Community Change

Andréa’s passions include children’s lit, needlework, reading and traveling. A resident of Richmond, she is married and the mother of two and grandmother to six wonderful children.

Colleen Powers, MD, FAAP

Colleen Powers, MD, FAAP is a board certified pediatrician and owner of Kingstown Pediatrics, a practice that focuses on preventive health, mental and physical health for all ages of children up to young adults. Colleen is also an associate professor at Alpert Medical School of Brown University.

In practice for 29 years, Colleen says she particularly enjoys educating medical students and pediatric residents. She lives in South Kingstown and has two adult sons.

Lori A. Duffy, LICSW

Lori A. Duffy, LICSW is in private practice as a clinical social worker as well as a behavioral health consultant and presenter. She specializes in young children and families and consults with several local pediatricians and non-profit organizations. For her outstanding service to the Coalition, she received the WCCC Champion for Community Change Award.

A North Kingstown resident, Lori is married with two adult children and an energetic goldendoodle. When not working, you can find Lori in her garden or practicing yoga.

Lori Ann Hiener, Board President

Lori Ann Hiener, Board President, has been a member of the Washington County Coalition for Children since its inception. She works in the field of social service, focusing her efforts with children and families.

Lori Ann has served with Girl Scouts as troop assistant, camp
director, and team leadership member for Southgansett Council for more than 15
years. She lives in South Kingstown with her husband and two grown
children, of whom she is most proud.

Nicole Faison, LICSW, Board Treasurer

Nicole Faison, LICSW, Board Treasurer, is a clinical social worker and the assistant director of early childhood programs at Meeting Street. She is a long-standing member of the Coalition.

Nicole enjoys reading, listening to music and traveling. Her passion is to “walk alongside families, individuals, and youth of all backgrounds while helping them discover how to dance their way through whatever beat life throws their way”. She has one son and lives in North Kingstown.

Rebecca Allen, BCBA, LBA

Rebecca Allen, BCBA, LBA is a Clinical Supervisor in Children’s Services at the Fogarty Center where she helps children with disabilities and their families reach behavioral, social and emotional goals. Rebecca received her masters in Applied Behavior Analysis at Salve Regina and is a licensed Board Certified Behavior Analyst. She has worked with parents and children in South County for the past eight years by serving as a leader of parenting groups.

A Charleston resident, Rebecca is passionate about helping animals, so she fosters puppies for Save a Lab Rescue, and has adopted all three of her dogs from Save a Lab. Rebecca has a son and a daughter who are both graduates of Chariho High School.

In addition to the Executive Board, the Coalition maintains a longstanding, non-governing Children’s Mental Health Advisory Board that oversees the Coalition’s countywide children’s mental health initiatives & advocacy.

Members have included community members as well as representatives from local schools, home visiting programs, local prevention task forces, DCYF (Department of Children, Youth, & Families), FCCP (Family Community Care Partnership), Day One, Gateway Healthcare, South County Home Health, Domestic Violence Resource Center, Parent Support Network of RI, RIPIN (RI Parent Information Network), RIAiMH (RI Association for Infant Mental Health), RI State Office of Rural Health, independent mental health providers, and others.

Susan A. Orban, LICSW, Director

Susan A. Orban, LICSW, Director, is a clinical social worker whose career working with children and families spans six states. Susan has coordinated the Coalition for its entire existence. In addition, for seven years she led Healthy Bodies, Healthy Minds Washington County, addressing childhood obesity and children’s mental health. She has one adult daughter and lives in Narragansett with her husband.
