Clear your schedules for the region’s best annual networking event for children’s advocates: the Children’s Issues Forum. This year’s event will be held Wednesday, May 22 from 8-10:30 am at the Village Inn in Narragansett.

Keynote speaker and local favorite Tom DiPaola will discuss “GPS for Kids: Generating Partnership Strategies”.

Director of Johnson & Wales’ Educational Leadership Doctorate program, Dr. DiPaola has been designing and implementing education programs for pre-school to higher ed populations for more than 30 years. He was superintendent of the Westerly Schools and a key special ed administrator for the Providence, Pawtucket, and Central Falls school systems.

You can read his impressive bio at the JWU website.

State of the County’s children, major awards, and a great breakfast: only $30, $5 off with membership

A central part of every’s year’s Forum is a detailed update on the status of Washington County’s children. The data is the latest available and essential to know for anyone who cares about the conditions in which our children and family are living.

The Coalition also uses the Forum as the perfect backdrop to unveil the year’s Champion for Children, and awards to other community leaders and usually unsung activists who devote their time to young people.

As always, tickets cost a mere $30, which includes a full buffet breakfast. People who buy or renew their memberships for as little as $10 can even deduct another $5 from the ticket price.

Register for the Forum by downloading the attached brochure and sending in the form.
