Next Free Online Course Scheduled Weds. June 10 & 17

Be prepared to help a youth who may be struggling with a mental health challenge.  Learn the ALGEE Action plan and know how to help.

Youth Mental Health First Aid is a skills-based training that teaches parents, family members, caregivers, neighbors, mentors, camp couselors, coaches, recreation leaders, pastors and anyone involved with youth how to identify, understand and respond to an adolescent (ages 12-18) who may be experiencing a mental health or substance use challenge.

Engaging teens in conversations about what they may be feeling or experiencing can be challenging.  Having more adults in our community knowing how to approach these hard conversations and what they can say or do to help can be game changers for our youth. Every parent, and every one who works with or has an adolescent in their life, could benefit from taking this practical, skills-based online course.

The 6.5 hour course is being taught in a blended format with a 2-hour self study online and two 2.5 hour ZOOM sessions with an instructor.  To inquire about other classes or to sign up contact Susan Orban at wccc@washcokids.org
