DCYF Director Trista Piccola to Keynote Coalition's Children's Issues Forum on May 31st

RI Dept. of Children, Youth, and Families Director, Trista Piccola, PhD, will offer the keynote address this year at our 15th Children’s Issues Forum. The annual breakfast event will take place on Wednesday, May 31st at Aqua Blue Hotel & Conference Center in Narragansett Pier starting at 8 am.
Dr. Piccola was appointed RI DCYF Director in January 2017. She brings over 20 years of child welfare experience in Ohio to the position. A distinguished clinician, teacher, researcher and administrator, Dr. Piccola has dedicated her career to improving the wellbeing of children, families and communities. As RI DCYF Director, she now oversees the department's Four Divisions: Child Welfare, Child Protective Services, Juvenile Correctional Services, and Permanency.
“Worth the Risk: Supporting, Mentoring, and Advocating on Behalf of Our Children” will be the focus of Dr. Piccola’s keynote. The Forum agenda includes the Coalition’s update on the status of the children in Washington County, as well as this year’s award winners for the 2017 ‘Champion for Children’ and ‘Champion for Community Change’. “The annual Children’s Issues Forum is the best opportunity for people who the care about the children of our community to network with their peers,” noted Susan Orban, Coalition Coordinator.
