Stand up and be counted! Become a member of the Washington County Coalition for Children
Washington County is a wonderful place to live work, and visit. From Narragansett to Westerly, the region has a magnificent coastline, precious farmland, irreplaceable natural areas, and wonderful communities. But not all of our county's children are thriving:
• Many families are struggling, as seen by the many children who are homeless, need SNAP (food stamps), and free/reduced school lunches.
• Too many children witness domestic violence and are victims of child abuse and neglect.
• Area resources are limited and children with special needs often face difficulties accessing the services they need.
• One in four of our high school students reports being depressed.
Washington County Coalition for Children members are area health and social service providers, educators, community leaders, parents and concerned residents. Join us! The more members we have, the greater our voice for chldren!
Our Mission: “to be a voice that advocates for the health and well-being of children and families in Washington County, serving as catalyst and facilitator in creating a culture where all children can thrive."
